Parents donate body of six-month-old baby to hospital

Kolkata, March 11 The parents of a six-month-old baby have donated her body to a state-run medical college here after she died of cardiac failure.
“This is the first time someone has donated the body of such a young baby to us,” said Sanjoy Ghosh, secretary of NGO Udayer Pathey, which coordinates donation of eyes and bodies.
Aishi, the daughter of restaurant executive Ankur Kishore Mondal, was born premature with a congenital heart disease.
The body has now been kept at the National Medical College and Hospital.
“They contacted us after Aishi’s death at her home in Barrackpore Sunday morning. The Mondals had twin babies - a girl and a boy. The girl died Sunday night. The boy is fine. He is there with the parents,” Ghosh told IANS.
