Kashmir
Srinagar, March 11  Ice hockey players from Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir will represent India at an international event.
The team will represent India at the IIHF challenge cup of Asia being hosted at Abu Dhabi.
Chering Dorje, the chief executive councillor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), flagged off the team at the Kushak Bakula Airport in Leh Wednesday.

It was a proud moment for Ladakh that ice hockey players from the region would represent the nation at the international event, Dorje told mediapersons at the airport.

He hoped the players would perform with distinction and prove themselves as good ambassadors of the country as well as of the state.

He said keeping in view the tremendous potential of winter games in Ladakh, measures have been initiated for creation of an all-weather ice hockey stadium of international standard at Leh.
